Orangeries from the Atrium Range
The enthusiasm for all types of garden rooms grew after the building of the Crystal Palace for the Great Exhibition and the orangery once again filled a desire for larger garden rooms, with both the structural design of a period house and the benefit of full glazing.
In modern times the term Orangery can be applied more generally to a building with a partially glazed roof with solid perimeters and side frames constructed both of glass and masonry.
" Similar to a conservatory but designed with a greater compliment of masonry and timber, the orangery, as the name suggest was originally created to house exotic fruits"
For an Orangery to succeed the design needs to be thought of carefully and at Lighthouse we can offer a range of designs from the classic and traditional orangery to a more modern design created from the latest maintenance free products. As with all our products, our versatile approach is offered as standard so each design will be created to compliment your property and the way you will use your new garden room, whether it is in offering the right type of glazing and design to cultivate an exotic plant collection or provide a more relaxed environment for all the seasons.
